Have you got an interest about the oil and gas industry?

We have depended on natural resourcing for many years which includes clothing, food and transport. For over 5000 years natural oil has been used.

During this time it has helped with lighting functions, medication and transportation, and it is still being used in various sectors today. In order to make boats waterproof, oil was drilled from the ground and used as paint.

Due to the high demand and limited supply of oil, the prices increased. Even though the Arab League is the number one producer of oil, the U.S.A is the biggest buyer.

Every year the United States of America consume 25% of nearly 30 billion barrels of oil.

Did you want to know what the oil processes are?

Within the oil industry there are three processes which are used:

  • The Upstream Process
  • The Downstream Process
  • The Midstream Process

If you want to recover or search for natural gas and crude oil then you need to use the Upstream process.

The following steps are used in this process:

  • You need to search for underground and underwater oil or gas fields.
  • Wells need to be drilled.
  • The wells also need to be operated.
  • After the wells have been operated you need to bring crude oil to the surface.

Processing and purifying raw natural gases and refining petroleum crude oil is Downstream processing. Some of the products derived from crude oil are natural gas, waxes, lubricants, gasoline or petrol, diesel oil, fuel oil and more. These products are also distributed and sold. During the process of downstream, midstream operations are also used. Therefore midstream is usually considered to be a part of the downstream sector. Petroleum oil plays a big part in our lives.

Did you know that petroleum was even used to make the piece of equipment you are reading on, right now!

iGAS provide a range of services for the oil and gas industry including on and off shore solutions. Our staff have many years of experience in the oil and gas industry and in the industrial gas industry.
